Top 15 Best-Selling Cars in February 2026: Tata Nexon Leads
The Indian car market remained highly competitive in February 2026, with several popular models continuing to dominate the sales charts. The Tata Nexon retained its position as the bestselling car of the month. It was followed closely by the Maruti Dzire and Tata Punch, both of which have maintained strong demand among buyers.
While most models kept their positions from January 2026, there was a slight change in the list as the Maruti Eeco entered the top 15, replacing the Maruti Alto. The rankings also highlight the growing dominance of SUVs and compact SUVs in the Indian automotive market.

Key Highlights
Tata Nexon, including the Nexon EV, remained the bestselling car in February 2026. Despite a 17 percent month-on-month drop compared to January, Tata Motors still sold over 19,400 units of the Nexon.
Maruti Dzire narrowly missed the top position by just 105 units. It continues to be the only sedan in the top 15 list and remains extremely popular in both private and commercial segments.
The Tata Punch lineup, including the Punch EV, secured the third spot. Even with a slight 3 percent drop in monthly sales, the compact SUV continues to see strong demand.
Hyundai Creta maintained stable performance with almost identical sales figures compared to January. The numbers include the standard Creta, Creta N Line, and Creta Electric variants.
Maruti Brezza moved up to the fifth position with a small improvement in monthly sales. The compact SUV recently completed ten years in the Indian market.
Maruti Ertiga recorded nearly the same sales figures as the previous month but slipped one position due to Brezza’s improved numbers.
Among hatchbacks, Maruti Wagon R managed to move ahead of Maruti Swift despite a minor drop in sales, while Swift saw a larger month-on-month decline.
The Mahindra Scorpio lineup, including Scorpio N, held its position despite a 6 percent drop in monthly sales.
Maruti Baleno also witnessed reduced demand, with sales declining by about 13 percent compared to January.
Maruti Fronx recorded a 4 percent increase in monthly sales, though its year-on-year numbers dropped significantly.
Maruti Eeco re-entered the top 15 list with more than 11,600 units sold in February 2026.
The Mahindra Thar lineup, including Thar Roxx, saw an 18 percent monthly decline but still posted strong year-on-year growth.
Hyundai Venue, including the Venue N Line, rounded off the list with just over 10,400 units sold during the month.
Overall, February 2026 sales data highlights the continued dominance of SUVs and compact SUVs in the Indian car market.
