India’s automobile market remained competitive in February 2026, with domestic manufacturers continuing to dominate the sales charts. Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Mahindra secured the top three positions, reflecting strong demand for Indian-made vehicles.
While most brands maintained their positions compared to January 2026, several companies experienced a dip in month-on-month (MoM) sales. However, a few brands such as Toyota, Skoda and MG recorded positive MoM growth.

Maruti Suzuki remained the top-selling car brand in India with around 1.61 lakh units sold in February 2026. Despite a 7.8% month-on-month decline, the company maintained a dominant 38.3% market share.
Tata Motors sold 62,329 units in February 2026. Although sales dropped compared to January 2026, the brand recorded an impressive 34.2% year-on-year growth.
Mahindra recorded sales of 60,018 units during the month. The company saw a slight 5.5% MoM decline but still achieved a healthy 19% YoY growth.
Hyundai sold 52,407 units in February 2026. While sales dropped compared to January, the brand still posted a 9.8% YoY growth and maintained a steady 12.5% market share.
Toyota sold 30,737 units in February 2026, slightly higher than January. This resulted in a 0.3% month-on-month increase and improved market share.
Kia recorded 27,610 units in February 2026 and registered 10.3% YoY growth. The brand maintained a stable 6.6% market share.
Skoda sold 6,361 units in February 2026, showing a strong 10.8% MoM growth and overtaking Honda in the sales rankings.
Honda sold 5,629 units in February 2026, reflecting a 9.2% decline from January while its YoY growth remained almost unchanged.
MG recorded sales of 4,957 units and posted an impressive 23.9% YoY growth with a slight improvement in market share.
Renault sold 3,495 units in February 2026. Despite a minor MoM decline, the brand achieved a strong 30.6% year-on-year growth.
February 2026 once again highlighted the dominance of Indian car manufacturers, with Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra leading the market. While some brands experienced month-on-month fluctuations, overall demand in the Indian automobile market remains strong.
