Renault is back with a bang! After years of waiting, the new-generation Renault Duster is finally making its way to India. Yes, the SUV that kick-started India’s compact SUV craze is returning, and the timing couldn’t be better it’s set to be unveiled this Diwali 2025, with an official launch in early 2026. For many, this feels like a long-lost hero making a comeback.

The third-generation Duster is a complete makeover from the older model sold in India. Yet, it will keep the iconic stance and rugged cues that fans loved. The five-seater version will be sold as Duster, while a bigger six/seven-seater version called the Boreal will follow later.

The SUV will ride on the CMF-B LS platform (Common Module Family Low Specification), which has been specially tuned for developing markets like India. This makes it more cost-effective, while still capable of handling both mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrains. In future, we can expect this LS platform to underpin several Renault-Nissan models in India.
The new Duster isn’t just about returning; it’s about arriving in style. Expect a bold stance, rugged proportions, and premium finishing. Key design details include:
In short, it will look premium, rugged, and instantly recognizable as a Duster.
Inside, the cabin will be a world apart from the old Duster. It’s modern, tech-packed, and driver-focused. Expected features include:
From long drives to city commutes, this Duster is built to keep you comfortable and safe.
Safety has been upgraded big time. The new Duster will bring Level 2 ADAS to India with features like:
In addition, traditional safety features like 6-7 airbags, ABS, EBD, and Hill Descent Control will also be part of the package.
Globally, the new Duster is offered with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engines, along with CNG in some regions. For India, Renault is expected to stick to petrol engines at launch:
A strong hybrid option may follow later. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed wet-clutch DCT automatic.
Think about it an SUV with bold looks, ADAS safety, premium features, and hybrid-ready engines. The Duster has always been about giving you “SUV feels” without breaking the bank, and the new-gen model is shaping up to do exactly that. For buyers who miss the old rugged Duster but crave modern tech, this might be the sweet spot.
The all-new Renault Duster is making a comeback in Diwali 2025, with its launch in early 2026. Packed with premium features, ADAS, modern styling, and hybrid-ready powertrains, it’s Renault’s strongest shot at reclaiming its lost ground in India’s SUV market. This Diwali, the SUV you once loved could very well become your next upgrade.
The new Renault Duster will be unveiled in Diwali 2025 and launched in early 2026.
It will use the CMF-B LS platform, optimized for developing markets like India.
Features include a panoramic sunroof, digital cluster, wireless charging, ventilated seats, dual-zone AC, and Level 2 ADAS.
The platform supports hybrids. India is expected to get a 1.3L turbo petrol (130-150 BHP), with hybrid versions possibly arriving later.
ADAS with adaptive cruise, blind-spot monitoring, emergency braking, lane-keeping, along with 6-7 airbags, ABS, EBD, and hill descent control.
The Duster will be a five-seater, while the Boreal will be a larger six/seven-seater SUV based on the same platform.
