New Tata Punch Facelift Unveiled: Design, Features & First Look
Tata Motors has officially unveiled the Tata Punch facelift, scheduled to launch on January 13, 2026. This marks the most comprehensive update to the Punch since its debut in 2021. Drawing strong inspiration from the Tata Punch EV, the updated model brings refreshed styling, new features, and—most notably—a turbo petrol engine for the first time.
As one of India’s best-selling micro-SUVs, the Tata Punch has carved a strong position in the market. With the facelift, Tata aims to build on that success. Below is a detailed look at what the new Tata Punch has to offer.
New 2026 Tata Punch: Design
Following Tata Motors’ latest design philosophy, the new Tata Punch facelift closely resembles the Tata Punch EV. At the front, it features vertically oriented trapezoidal headlights similar to the electric version. However, unlike the EV’s body-coloured bumper, the ICE Punch gets a blacked-out bumper with a functional air dam.
Another key difference lies in the lighting signature. While the Punch EV receives a full-width LED light bar, the facelifted Punch retains a black band positioned between the LED DRLs.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, with the addition of new 16-inch alloy wheels being the primary update. At the rear, the Punch facelift introduces connected LED tail lamps along with a revised bumper, lending the vehicle a more contemporary appearance.
New 2026 Tata Punch: Interior and Features
The interior layout remains familiar but now draws inspiration from the Tata Nexon. Key updates include a new 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a gloss black panel featuring touch-sensitive HVAC controls, and a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
The infotainment system has been upgraded to a 10.25-inch touchscreen unit, while the seats now come with dual-tone grey and blue upholstery, enhancing the cabin’s overall ambience.
In terms of features, the Tata Punch facelift adds a 360-degree camera and hill descent control. These are offered alongside existing features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, a 6-speaker Harman sound system, keyless entry with push-button start, and a single-pane sunroof.
New 2026 Tata Punch: Safety
Safety continues to be a priority, with the new Tata Punch offering six airbags as standard across all variants. Additional safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a rear parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
New 2026 Tata Punch: Engine and Transmission
The Tata Punch facelift retains the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 88 PS of power and 115 Nm of torque. The CNG variant delivers 73.5 PS and 103 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
The highlight of the update is the introduction of a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, sourced from the Tata Nexon. This engine generates 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
New 2026 Tata Punch: Expected Price and Rivals
The new Tata Punch facelift is expected to be priced between ₹6 lakh and ₹9.50 lakh (ex-showroom). In the Indian market, it will compete with models such as the Hyundai Exter, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor, and Citroen C3.
